Yoga Stretch

Yoga Stretch is a gentle non-athletic class focusing on opening the body. Stretching is combined with basic breathing exercises to help you find the physical and mental energy and stamina. Yoga Stretch is perfect for students with chronic muscle or joint pain, and an excellent compliment to more energetic classes.

Yoga Stretch is:

  • A restorative Yoga geared toward greater flexibility
  • Based on Yin Yoga - the art of muscle release to stretch and create space in joints & ligaments
  • Gives special attention to legs, hips and back
  • Releases tightness, stress, and physical discomfort
We begin each class with a few minutes of meditative breathing and then move on to some light twists of the spine. Each posture is held to let the body release and create space between your joints, ligaments and muscles. Virtually no part of your body will be unaffected by this technique. Hips, shoulders and especially your heart begin to unlock; this is where working our bodies intersects with feeling great.
